How To Age Gracefully

Aging gracefully is possible with planning and the right supplements. Take a stand against aging by putting these tips into practice and supplementing with our favorite Max Muscle products.

Combat: Lines and Wrinkles

Hydration is critical! Hydrate by drinking enough water. You’ll want to aim for at least eight glasses per day.  If you live in hot, humid weather, you’ll need to up the ante. Focus on moisturizing your skin as well! Think of a dirt road- when it is dry; the cracks run ramped. If you were to water the road using a hose, the lines blend and become smooth. The same goes for fine lines on your skin. Hydrating your skin will diminish the sight of fine lines.

Use retinol at least one time per week.  Assess how drying retinol is to your skin and apply a thin layer as often as one time per day or even one time per week to minimize fine lines.

Combat: Dull Hair and Nails

Nothing gives away our age like dull and brittle hair and nails. Treat your hair to a coconut oil mask and hydrate your nail beds. Focus on proper nutrition consuming enough dietary fat from foods like salmon, eggs, and avocado.  Vitamin E is found in almonds, spinach, and butternut squash.

Combat: Gravity Take Over

As we age, we need more protein to maintain the muscle on our bodies. We also want to reverse this sign of aging with resistance training. Use specific exercises to focus on the most common gravity affected spots like your tummy and glutes to keep and grow lean tissue. Make sure you see the results of your efforts by consuming enough protein.

Protein guidelines

The RDA guidelines for protein intake in healthy adults is 1 gram per kg of body weight, but Max readers want to look and feel optimal with increased lean tissue so shoot for 1.5 grams per pound of lean body mass.

Keeping your lean mass as you age will also increase your metabolism making it harder to store body fat- win/win!

Combat: Restlessness and Sleep Disturbances

“You look so tired” is a dreaded statement for many. As we age, we can become victim to sleep disturbances. Getting a good night’s rest is crucial to maintaining that youthful glow. Practice good sleep hygiene by turning off electronics thirty minutes before bedtime- or setting them to night mode- and keeping your room cool. Proper window coverings will prevent you from waking before it’s time.
