Turmeric Smoothie

There are multiple benefits of turmeric including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Turmeric can help protect your body against certain cancers, reduce symptoms of arthritis, and reduce blood sugar according to the American Cancer Society and Natural Health; Natural Medicine.

Here’s a delicious smoothie recipe courtesy of my client, Heidi.

This makes 2 servings. Blend in a Vitamix or a high-quality blender

1 inch peeled turmeric (just used like a vegetable peeler to peel)

1 inch peeled ginger

1 peeled grapefruit

2 cups coconut water

1 tbs honey (or add to taste)

Blend and strain

Top with freshly ground black pepper (helps with the absorption of turmeric in the body)

Garnish w orange
